This week Microsoft launches its long awaited "i-Pod killer", the Zune in the US. Us Brits will have to wait until late 2007.
The question is can Microsoft really catch up to the i-Pod revolution? Maybe they can benefit from the second mover advantage and learn from Apple's mistakes. But in my opinion they will have to do something pretty special to catch Apple now.
Microsoft are trying to concentrate on features that the iPod doesn't have to create a USP. For example, the new 30Gb Zune features a 3-inch LCD screen, Buffered Internet radio streaming and the ability to share tracks from another person which can be played for up to three days or three plays.
But have they done enough to get people to make the switch from Apple? I don't think so. I am prefectly happy with my sleek I-Pod video thanks Microsoft.

Apparently stores are selling them early in the States... and the errors start almost straight after.
