Microchipped cows..what next? Oh right, chips in shoppers..

We thought it was bad enough when us cows were made to be microchipped. Something about wanting to trace the food from the farm to your plate.

Well now a recent survey by the Institute for Grocery Distribution (IGD) claims that almost one in ten teenagers and one in twenty adults are willing to have a microchip implanted to pay shop bills and help to prevent card or identity fraud and muggings. Other options being trialled are retina and fingerprint scanning.


Some mad Spanish people who go to the VIP Baja Beach Club in Barcelona have already been inplanted with body chips because there is no place for their wallets or purses in their bikinis. Have they not heard of bum-bags or am I just stuck in the 80's?
