Web 3.0 at the Web 2.0 Conference?

A quick google search today revealed that the web 2.0 conference is being held this week (7th-9th November) in San Francisco. Among the topics for debate is 'Defining web 3.0: What's next?’ As someone who is new to web 2.0, I wasn’t entirely sure if this was a play on words or a real concept…so to my new friend, wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_3.0).

Only, I find that this space has been ‘deleted and protected’. Does this mean that people have already begun to argue over the definition of web 3.0 or that this space has been reserved in the expectation of its arrival? Has anyone ever seen a definition here before?

Probably arguing.

I like the line in the link below...we're trying to define Web3.0 when most people are trying to get their heads round Web2.0 or don't see the relevance.

Really interesting comments too...

Maybe Web3.0 will be the life raft thrown into save us from drowning in everyone else's content. That life raft could be FAST like search that IK gave a peek into a couple of weeks ago.

One of the things we have to do is make better sense of this...

Yes, people are already trying grab a conceptual lead by defining Web 3.0.

For me, I think the smart move is to go straight to defining Web 4.0!! Is this available on wikipedia? It should give my consultancy operation longeivity.

(Agree with Paul about FAST ... sentiment searching, constant, real-time retrieval ... )
